It’s time for the third part of Sachiyo Ishii’s fantastic nativity knitalong! These three kings are dressed in their regal splendour complete with perfect packages held out and ready to gift. There’s plenty of clever knitting in this section, too, from shaping the crowns and turban with increases and decreases to creating tiny gifts using simple stocking stitch. Details such as k2tog, kfb and pfb bring the pieces to life, while French knots, backstitch and embroidered details add the finishing touches. Keep an eye out next week for part four, which is a shepherd and his little sheep.
"In just six weeks, you'll have a complete nativity scene ready to display at Christmas"

In a pattern, kfb stands for 'knit into the front and back of the same stitch' and adds one stitch to your needle. This may leave a small bar, depending on your pattern.
